I'm applying for the Marketing Project Manager position at Oscar.
To most of us, insurance is scary and altogether too complicated - but it shouldn't be.
While the incumbents continue to isolate members, Oscar is on a path to re-engage them.
I want to be a part of the team that reimagines the way that people feel about insurance.

Here's just a few reasons why I'd make an outstanding Marketing Project Manager at Oscar.

CUSTOMER FIRST

Wearing multiple hats can be a challenge when translating new technologies into brands that re-engage customers. As technologists, our reflex reaction is to sell cool features; but truly effective campaigns connect customers with the impact of our innovations in a human way. This is as much an art as it is a science and it's something that I'm incredibly passionate about bringing to Oscar.

STARTUP CULTURE

An entrepreneurship graduate, startup is in my blood. To me, the idea of strictly defined roles and functions is an outdated concept. A growing business should be full of innovators that challenge the status quo and push the envelope. This requires dynamic cross-disciplinary skill sets and strong collaboration. Oscar has startup hustle built into its DNA - my experience and passion are a logical fit.

ORGANIZED FOR SUCCESS

A visionary strategy is no guarantee of success - I know this from personal experience as I watched a transformational, multi-billion dollar startup unravel. I would be a strong addition to the Oscar team because my creativity and passion are backed up with systematic and methodical organizational skills. Project management has become second nature to me as is demonstrated in my experience juggling multiple critical path projects through to success on a sustained basis.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY

I see communication as much more than just the language we use. Marketers, programmers, creatives and strategists have fundamentally different ways of seeing the world. My cross-functional experience ranges from working on the executive team at a Nasdaq company through to collaborating with creatives, agencies and vendors. By leveraging this strength and building robust internal networks, I'm able to make efficient, effective decisions and turn them into results - fast.

I look forward to meeting with you to explore the opportunity further.

Laurence.
